If you're experiencing an issue with your L'OR BARISTA System, the tips below can help resolve many common concerns.
Leaking
Water Leaking from the Bottom
- Ensure the water tank is fully seated and positioned correctly on the machine.
- Remove and reinstall the water tank to confirm it is aligned properly.
- Check for any water that may have spilled while refilling or reinstalling the tank.
Dripping from the Coffee Spout
A small amount of coffee dripping from the spout after brewing is normal.
To minimize dripping, open the lever once brewing is complete.
Leaking Coffee Spout
The two-piece coffee dispensing spout is removable for cleaning and must be assembled correctly.
To reinstall the spout:
- Remove the dispensing spout by pulling it straight down.
- Insert the gray piece into the black piece.
- Push the assembled spout upward into the machine until it clicks into place.
Loud Noises During Brewing
Some machine noise is normal, but louder-than-expected sounds may occur if:
- The water tank is empty.
- The water tank is not positioned correctly.
- Air is trapped in the internal water system.
- The machine needs descaling.
Removing Air from the Water System
- Turn on the machine.
- Remove any capsule from the capsule compartment.
- Place a cup under the spout.
- Press the large drink button to run water through the system.
Once water flows normally, discard the water and brew again.
Note: Different capsule brands may produce slightly different brewing sounds. This does not indicate a problem with the machine.
Lever Will Not Open
Full Capsule Drawer
The lever may not open if the used capsule drawer is full. Empty the drawer and try again.
Blocked Capsule Compartment
If a capsule becomes stuck during brewing, allow the machine to sit for 45-60 minutes before trying again. You may need to apply gentle force to open the lever.
Coffee Not Hot Enough
Several factors can affect beverage temperature. Below are a few things you can check to improve the temperature.
Cup Selection
- Thin-walled cups retain heat better than thick-walled cups.
- Use a cup size that matches the beverage size being brewed.
Preheating
For a hotter cup of coffee:
- Place a cup beneath the spout.
- Run a brew cycle without a capsule.
- Discard the water.
- Brew your coffee as normal.
This helps warm both the machine and the cup.
Adding Milk
Cold milk can significantly reduce beverage temperature. For hotter drinks, warm milk before adding it to coffee.
Descaling
Mineral buildup can impact brewing temperature. Regular descaling helps maintain optimal performance and beverage temperature.
Indicator Lights
The machine's lights provide information about operation and maintenance needs.
| Light Pattern | Meaning |
|---|---|
| On/Off button flashing slowly | The machine is heating up. |
| On/Off button flashing quickly | Water tank is empty or not installed correctly. |
| All buttons illuminated steadily | Machine is ready to brew. |
| Selected drink button flashing slowly | Beverage is being prepared. |
| Selected drink button flashing quickly | Program mode is active or settings have been saved. |
| Small and large drink buttons flashing together after brewing | Descaling is required. |
Resetting Drink Volumes
If a drink button has been programmed accidentally, you can restore factory settings:
- Turn on the machine.
- Wait until all drink buttons illuminate.
- Press and hold the small, medium, and large drink buttons simultaneously.
- Release when all buttons flash quickly.
The machine will reset to its factory brew settings.
Descaling Reminder
When the small and large drink buttons flash simultaneously after brewing, it's time to descale the machine.
Regular descaling helps:
- Maintain coffee quality and temperature
- Ensure proper drink volume
- Reduce brewing noise
- Prevent scale buildup
- Extend the life of the machine
